英语周演讲稿篇1
it well that young men should begin at the beginning and occupy the most subordinate positions。 many of the leading businessmen of pittsburgh had a serious responsibility thrust upon them at the very threshold of their career。 they were introduced to the broom, and spent the first hours of their business lives sweeping out the office。 i notice we have janitors and janitresses now in offices, and our young men unfortunately ms that salutary branch of business education。 but if by chance the professional sweeper absent any morning, the boy who has the genius of the future partner in him will not hesitate to try h hand at the broom。 the other day a fond fashionable mother in michigan asked a young man whether he had ever seen a lady sweep in a room so grandly as her prcilla。 he said no,he never had,and the mother was gratified beyond measure, but then said he,after a pause,“what i should like to see her do sweep out a room” it does not hurt the newest er to sweep out the office if necessary. i was one of those sweepers myself。
assuming that you have all obtained employment and are fairly started,my advice to you “aim high”。 i would not give a fig for the young man who does not already see himself the partner or the head of an important firm。 do not rest content for a moment in your thoughts as head clerk,or foreman,or general manager in any concern,no matter how extensive。 say to yourself,“my place at the top。” be king in your dreams。
and here the prime condition of success, the great secret: concentrate your energy, thought, and capital exclusively upon the business in which you are engaged。 having begun in one line, resolve to fight it out on that line,to lead in it,adopt every improvement, have the best machinery, and know the most about it。
the concerns which fail are those which have scattered their capital, which means that they have scattered their brains also。 they have investments in th,or that,or the other, here there, and everywhere。 “don't put all your eggs in one basket。” all wrong。 i tell you to “put all your eggs in one basket, and then watch that basket。” look round you and take notice, men who do that not often fail。 it easy to watch and carry the one basket。 it trying to carry too many baskets, which break most eggs in th country。 he who carries three baskets must put one on h head, which apt to tumble and trip him up。 one fault of the american businessman lack of concentration。
to summarize what i have said: aim for the highest; never enter a bar room; do not touch liquor,or if at all only at meals; never speculate; never indorse beyond your surplus cash fund; make the firm's interest yours; break orders always to save owners; concentrate; put all your eggs in one basket, and watch that basket; expenditure always within revenue; lastly,be not impatient, for as emerson says,“no one can cheat you out of ultimate success but yourselves。”

gratitude comes from the heart. as the saying goes: "dripping of grace, when yongquan phase reported." let alone your parents? your parents give you not just a drop of water but a sea of water. so do you pass a cup of warm tea when your parents are tired, give them a card on their birthday, and send them greetings and comfort when they are down. they often pour into the effort, energy for us, and we do not remember their birthday, experience, even their tired. your little gratitude, in the eyes of parents you precious. when they touch your head and say, "boy, you're grown up!" well, i congratulate you. you're grateful for your success. but that's not enough. you've actually succeeded a little, and there are plenty of opportunities to repay them later.

a teacher is like spring, who nurtures new green sprouts, encourages and leads them, whenever they have doubts.a teacher is like summer, whose sunny temperament makes studying a pleasure, preventing discontent.
a teacher is like fall, with methods crisp and clear, lessons of bright colorsand a happy atmosphere.a teacher is like winter, while it‘s snowing hard outside, keeping students comfortable,as a warm and helpful guide.
teacher, you do all these things, with a pleasant attitude;you’re a teacher for all seasons, and you have my gratitude!

honorable judges, fellow students:
good afternoon!
recently, ther is a heated debate in our society. the college students are the beneficiaries of a rare privilege, who receive exceptional education at extraordinary places. but will we be able to face the challenge and support ourselves against all odds? will we be able to better the lives of others? will we be able to accept the responsibility of building the future of our country?
the cynics say the college students are the pampered lost generation, which would cringe at the slightest discomfort. but the cynics are wrong. the college students i see are eagerly learning about how to live independently. we help each other clean the dormitory, go shopping and bargain together, and take part time jobs to supplement our pocket money.
the cynics say we care for nothing other than grades; and we neglect the need for character cultivation. but again, the cynics are wrong. we care deeply for each other, we cherish freedom, we treasure justice, and we seek truth. last week, thousands of my fellow students had their blood type tested in order to make a contribution for the children who suffer from blood cancer.
as college students, we are adolescents at the critical turning point in our lives. we all face a fundamental choice: cynicism or faith, each will profoundly impact our future, or even the future of our country. i believe in all my fellow classmates. though we are still inexperienced and even a little bit childish. i believe that we have the courage and faith to meet any challenge and take on our responsibilities. we are preparing to assume new responsibilities and tasks, and to use the education we have received to make our world a better place. i believe in our future.

we are not living in vacuum, and the society is formed of various kinds of people. as long as we want to live, study, or work, we have to contact, communicate and cooperate with others. those who enjoy common interests, mutual understanding, common undertakings and common benefits become friends.
some friends are called fair-weather friends, because they are together just for entertaining themselves by eating, drinking, and gossiping. once there's nothing to eat and drink, their friendship is finished. some are spiritual friends who share common ambitions, pursuits and education.
“they enjoy talking and laughing with the great talents and never make friends with the good-for-nothings”. the best examples would be yu boya and zhong ziqi of the ancient times who are famous not only for their lofty music but mainly for their lofty characters and mutual understanding and appreciation. they cared very little about material wealth, so their friendship is known as “gentlemen's friendship as pure as water” third type of friendship belong to those who show their utter devotion to each other. they are ready not only to share weal and woe but also to die for each other, like the three brothers liu, guan and zhang in the novel romance of the three kingdoms. . we all wish to have this kind of friendship, but it's of great difficulty for the ordinary people to be as devoted as they were.

i love you, china, and i’m so proud of being a chinese. i’m proud that i’ve got the beautiful yellow skin, black eyes and black hair. i’m also proud that i speak the most beautiful language in the world—chinese.
i love you, china, for i can feel the deep love you give me every day, every minute. last year, i got an opportunity to visit the united states of america. during my staying there, my father’s boss once invited my family to dinner. while at , he looked at me and asked: “little boy, how long have you been in america?” “about a month,” i answered, “how lucky you are!” he said, “if you were living in china, how could you learn such perfect english?” i smiled and told him proudly that all the students in china are able to learn english at school. i saw his surprised eyes and said to myself, “i’m proud of you, china ”
