with the developing of technology and industry, we produce more and more pollution to the environment, especially in our developing country. as is known to us all, recently, many areas in china appeared a massive haze weather, which caused people have to go out with a face mask. moreover, this phenomenon even caused the widespread attention at home and abroad, and also gave us a warning again. in addition, extreme weather, continual and countless species disappearing, global warming and so on, these all remind us of the urgency of the environment protection.

problems are there already, so what should we do in order to improve the situation？

we are just some students, we couldn’t make something especially big contribution for the environment, but we can firstly compose up in our environment, from protecting school’s environment, for example： obey the regulation forbidding chaos to throw away various waste, avoid using the drink up, mess tin, plastic bags for one time merely…such can cut down rubbish greatly and also do good to the environment in many aspects.

although these being minor matter at above, but if everybody gets to do, set about from saving resource and falling off contaminating at once, we are likely to be to protect the earth ma-ki-ng a contribution out.

some people may proudly say: we are the masters of nature. it is true that the idea of "man can conquer nature" has dominated people's mind for years, and it is true, man has kept acting like a master and doing whatever things he wants for thousands of years. however, as the consequence of this kind of "leadership" , now the "master" seems to be confronted with problems that are far beyond his control. facts are really very ample. thegreen house effect leaves islands and cities along the coast, such as this oriental pearl-shanghai, in danger of the disaster of being drowned; the holes of the ozone layer make the earth less suitable to live for some creatures including human beings; the phenomena of el nino and la nina leave the land with serious flood and drought, and the diseases, caused by pollution, are increasing at an incredible speed... seeing all these facts, can we still ignore the counterattack of nature? we are not the masters of nature. facing all the disasters made by ourselves, we, mankind as a whole should realize that we are just a normal member of the big family of nature. any mistreatment towards nature will meet only with the revenge from her. by saying so, i do not mean we should give a sudden stop to any development. because that will result in a threat to the existence of human society. i mean we should treat nature equally, leaving the chance of existence and development to nature as we are obtaining the same thing, and thus we will get the situation of win-win. i am very pleased to find that now more and more people, from every corner of the planet, have come to realize that harmony with nature is the only way to universal and continuous progress and prosperity. and i think that is why we come here from all over the country to discuss this topic today. i want to end my speech by quoting from mr. nixon. "our destiny offers, not the cup of despair, but the chalice of opportunity." the future is not ours to see of course. however, by seizing firmly the opportunities, by knowing clearly about ourselves, we, human beings, can doubtlessly achieve the real harmony with nature! thank you very much.

on a saturday morning. i went to have breakfast. i felt there was aterrible smell and went over to have a look carefully. i found that there was abig pile of banana skins giving out the smell.just then a young fellow holding adustpan rubbish to walk towards here . he raised his hands, the big pile ofrubbish was here. at once i went to him and said “uncle , you can’t do like this. these things will rot very soon. it’s bad for our health and make the peoplefall ill.” however ,the man said “everyone does so ,who falls ill,who will seethe doctor.”

looking at this , i remembered another act : there is a stream through ourvillage. over it there are two bridges .at the age of seven years old , ienjoyed the beautiful scenery under the bridge very much. it was the best placeto swim in summer. but now the rubbish was getting more and more .dishleaves,fruit skins,dead ducks and chickens….after rotting ,not only themosquitos flew around but also the bad smell made everyone feel quiteterrible.though the stream was cleaned up several times, it’s still happeningnow. a lot of plastic bags always float on it .in summmer we have to go far awayfrom the village to swim.

what causes this? who is the devil?it’s the human ourselves. i have got toknown from a book .the rubbish in the countryside mostly occupies the fields anddamages the earth’s surface .it pollutes soil,wave ,atmosphere and damages ourhealth. the adults often say “the body is capital.” but why are they able tomake woollen cloth like this ? does it affect everybody’s safe and sound life?

schoolmates, we are the host of society tomorrow . it’s our duty to improveand build the safe invironment.

safety is in our hands .we must take park in more environmental protectionactivities, plant more trees and flowers to make us live in a beautiful homewith the blue sky ,blue water and green land forever.

however, there are still many problems of environmental protection in recent years. one of the mostserious problems is the serious pollution of air, water and soil. the polluted air does great harm to people’s health. the polluted water causes diseases and death. what is more, vegetation had been greatly reduced with the rapid growth of modern cities.on the one hand, the environment pollution and destruction are getting worse and worse in the modern world. on the other hand, the lack of knowledge about the importance of protecting environment hinders the solving of the problem. in a word, there is a long way to go before we enjoy a clean and comfortable world. to protect the environment, governments of many countries have done a lot. legislative steps have been introduced to control air pollution, to protect the forest and sea resources and to stop any environmental pollution. therefore, governments are playing the most important role in the environmental protection today. in my opinion, to protect environment, the government must take even more concrete measures. first, it should let people fully realize the importance of environmental protection through education. second, much more efforts should be made to put the population planning policy into practice, because more people means more pollution.

一个人，落魄到三次航海两次落难的程度，可他仍在坚持着自己的理想。他落难时成了海盗的奴隶，可他仍然冲出重围，返回故乡。他落难到荒岛，不但没有自暴自弃，反而冲着一线生机建立了帝国，难道，这仅仅是巧合吗？

在这里，我要坚决的否定——不！他靠的是理想，靠的是渴望，靠的是不抛弃、不放弃，乐观向上的精神。

记得鲁滨逊刚落难到荒岛时，有多么悲观，可是，当他看到淡水、果林还有动物时，又仿佛找到了一线生机。于是，他乐观地在荒岛上生活了十年之久。鲁滨逊生病时，他顽强与病魔作斗争，有时，他也在责怪自己，为什么不听父亲的'话，而是选择跑出来。他想让上帝来帮助自己，他甚至和自己的良知争吵。可是，他还是熬了过来，靠着一支枪和几本《圣经》熬了过来，靠着自己回家的欲望熬了过来。

鲁滨逊在当时的英国只是一个蚂蚁般大小的小人物，可他却靠着理想与希望，奇迹般的干了一番轰轰烈烈的大事业。在生活中，也有像他这样顽强的人：无臂钢琴师刘伟，孝女孟佩杰和等等遭受生活的挫败反而更加坚持不懈的人。

理想是动力，欲望是源泉，乐观是精神，坚持不懈是永久的力量。拥有这些，有些人可以取得不朽的成绩，有些人可以快乐的生活一辈子，而没有这些的人则一事无成。

鲁滨逊的梦想和爱好是航海和冒险，途中，他经历了许多坎坷与困难，可他都用自己的希望坚持了下来。其中，不免包括了许多汗水与痛楚，但他选择了坚持，选择了用辛苦换取最后的胜利！

i feel so happy to have the chance to make a speech. the title of my speech is protect the environment, protect ourselves. i hope you will like it.

everybody knows waste paper and used coke cans are discarded everywhere. you might have seen plastic bags flying in the sky and getting caught in the trees when the wind blows or maybe you have seen old cans floating in the rivers and polluting the water. our environment is the place in which we live, but it is being ruined by us.

there is a story about house and trees. it is said that a man’s house was surrounded by a lot of trees. though the wind was strong, that man could have a good rest under the trees. how comfortable the life was! one day, that man wanted to enlarge his house, so he cut down all the trees. then the autumn came without the protection. the strong wind blew the roof of the house into the sky. the whole house was gone with the wind. what a pity! but that’s the price people have to pay for destroying in the ecology balance. people shouldn’t be short-sighted. protecting the environment is everyone’s task.

as you know, there are four kinds of pollution. they are air pollution, water pollution, waste pollution and noise pollution. but what can we do to solve the pollution？ i think, firstly, we can make cars that don’t pollute the environment. we can ask companies to use modern clean technology. in some big cities, we can limit the number of cars. secondly, we can try to use less water and make sure that we do not pollute the water. we can tell factories that they are not allowed to pour waste water into the lakes and rivers. thirdly, we should not throw rubbish in parks and cities. we can pick up rubbish if we see it. we can put more rubbish bins in our parks and cities. fourthly, we can live far from the noise and make the laws to limit the noise.

the air, water and the whole atmosphere directly influenced our lives, such as the air, people may cough and it will lead to cancer. so we must try our best to keep the world clean and tidy. to reach it, i want to put forward three points to everybody---point 1： don’t spit and liter； point 2： don’t draw on the wall； point 3： clean the streets every day.
